BOSTON — After the Bruins failed to convert on a 5-on-3 power play earlier in the first period, third-line winger Daniel Paille opened the scoring in Saturday’s Game 2 at TD Garden with a wrist shot that beat Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price.

Paille received a nice pass from defenseman Andrej Meszaros, then fired a shot toward goal that appeared to deflect off Canadiens defenseman Francis Bouillon before hitting the back of the net.

The goal is Paille’s first of the 2014 Stanley Cup playoffs and gave the Bruins their first lead of the series.
