The Bruins’ exit from the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs came as a surprise to fans, and even to Bruins players themselves. The B’s were knocked out of the second round in seven games by the Montreal Canadiens, starting their offseason a little earlier than they had anticipated.
Many players on the team said that they don’t yet have any offseason plans, and some said they are going to stay away from the game for at least a little while. The lengthy layoff gives some, like David Krejci, plenty of time and motivation to come back even stronger next season.
“I’m going to take some time off,” Krejci said. “I’m going to train like I’ve never trained before, because I never had that time. And I feel that the break is going to help me, and I’m going to come back as a better player.
