Donald Sterling isn’t out of Adam Silver’s hair yet.
It has been over a week since Silver banned Sterling from the NBA for life as punishment for a racist rant that threatened to tear the league apart. Silver, still breaking in his seat as commissioner, says he is confident he can get the approval of the rest of the league’s team owners to oust Sterling from the club.
If only it were that easy. A lengthy legal battle likely awaits Silver and the NBA, with victory meaning Sterling will merely be forced to sell his team at a hefty profit from the amount he purchased the team for in 1981. Meanwhile, the Clippers appear to have drawn together on the court since Silver’s action.
USA Today’s Sam Amick joins NESN.com NBA editor Ben Watanabe to discuss what’s next for Silver and Sterling in this edition of the Celtics/NBA podcast. Also, Kevin O’Connor of SBNation’s CelticsBlog stops by for more 2014 NBA draft talk.
