Boston Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. delivered on his promise to unleash the ‘fro.

Bradley, who promised his teammates earlier this week he would ditch his cornrows in favor of an afro, stayed true to his word before Saturday’s game against the Detroit Tigers at Fenway Park. Bradley revealed his new — and incredibly awesome — hairstyle, which even required the 24-year-old to seek out a bigger hat.

Bradley chose to debut the new hairdo Saturday because John Lackey — one of the afro’s biggest advocates — was starting for the Red Sox. Unfortunately for Bradley, he wasn’t in the lineup, and Lackey struggled as the Red Sox suffered their third straight loss.

Win or lose, however, Bradley’s new look is pretty sweet. Check it out below.
