Don’t let their spots in the Boston Red Sox lineup fool you. Will Middlebrooks and Jackie Bradley Jr. can swing the bat.
Batting in the No. 8 and No. 9 spots, respectively, Middlebrooks and Bradley Jr. combined for three hits and four runs scored in an 8-3 win against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park on Saturday night.
The third baseman and the center fielder have done a great job in providing a spark from the bottom of the order, and manager John Farrell recognized their efforts after Saturday’s game by praising their ability to lengthen the Red Sox lineup.
