John Farrell: Jake Peavy Walking In Run Was ‘Uncharacteristic’ (Video)

Walking in a run in the fourth inning didn’t help Boston Red Sox starter Jake Peavy’s cause, but no one would have thought that would be the deciding run in a 2-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday.

Red Sox manager John Farrell talked to reporters before the second game of Thursday’s doubleheader to discuss Peavy’s performance in the opener and the team’s inability to score baserunners, among other pregame notes.

Check out what the Sox skipper had to say in the video above.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
