Johnny Damon has come a long way since his lovable band of “idiots” made a historic run to the World Series championship in 2004.
Yet that doesn’t mean he’s ready to completely put his playing days in the past.
The former Boston Red Sox outfielder teamed up with Major League Baseball and Coldwell Banker to give fans a video tour of his home, a nearly 30,000-square-foot mansion located in Florida.

The home is a shrine to the two things Damon loves most: baseball and music. After kicking off the tour with a sweet drum solo, the 40-year-old shows off his extensive display of baseball memorabilia, which includes a lineup card from his All-Star Game appearance in 2005, the flashy red-white-and-blue cleats he wore during the game and, of course, a massive painting of his 2004 World Series ring.
“I’m very proud of what I was able to accomplish on a baseball field and the championships,” Damon said. “I know some guys just go non-stop at collecting. Then you have to end up putting your stuff in the kitchen, in the living room. So I think we did a pretty good job.”
As long as he keeps a place for his 2004 World Series mementos, Red Sox fans likely will agree.
