Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu burst onto the scene in April, setting new rookie records with 10 home runs and 31 runs batted in during his first month in the majors.
Abreu has certainly impressed with his bat, but on Saturday against the Cleveland Indians, the 27-year-old flaunted some creativity on defense when Lonnie Chisenhall’s ground ball got stuck in the webbing of his glove during the sixth inning.
The leather wasn’t cooperating with Abreu, but he didn’t panic. Instead, the first baseman simply flipped his entire glove over to pitcher Scott Carroll for the out.
It wasn’t your average backhand flip, but the White Sox will take it.
