Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty got up close and personal with some Ducks players in Thursday night’s Game 3 at Staples Center when he took a hit from Matt Beleskey and went flying into the Anaheim bench.

This is a great example of finishing your check with a hard, clean hit. Being physical with Doughty is one of the top priorities for the Ducks in this second-round playoff series because the 24-year-old star is one of L.A.’s best players and has done a good job of shutting down the Anaheim forward duo of Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf through three games.

Luckily, no one was hurt and Doughty’s skate blades didn’t catch anyone after he was flipped over.
