Any doubt regarding how Magic Johnson feels about Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni was removed Wednesday.

The Lakers announced Wednesday night that D’Antoni would be stepping down from his duties after the team refused to pick up his option for the final season of his contract. Magic took to Twitter to offer his reaction, and he didn’t mince words.

The Lakers legend has not been shy in the past about voicing his displeasure with D’Antoni, and his gripes are somewhat justified. D’Antoni led the Lakers a first-round exit against the San Antonio Spurs in the 2013 playoffs, then guided his team to an abysmal 27-55 record this season, its worst since the team moved to L.A. in 1960.

Still, Magic has taken considerable heat for his blatant celebration of D’Antoni’s demise in L.A.

“Magic Johnson’s bigger than that,” TNT analyst Charles Barkley said Wednesday night. “Listen, Mike D’Antoni is a good coach. They didn’t give him a lot to work with. But Magic Johnson, he’s bigger than that.”

The drama continues in Los Angeles.
