Former NBA player Marko Jaric and Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima have split after five years of marriage.
“After long and careful consideration, we have decided to separate after five years of marriage,” they said in a statement to People. “We are grateful to be the parents of two incredible young daughters that we will continue to co-parent. We would greatly appreciate your respect for our family’s privacy as we begin this delicate next chapter for all members of our family.”
Jaric and Lima met in Los Angeles in 2006 and were engaged two years later. They were married in 2009, and have 4-year-old and 19-month-old daughters.
Jaric spent seven full seasons in the NBA, mostly with the Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves, before playing in Europe. He most recently was picked up by the Brooklyn Nets in September 2013, but he was waived in October.
