030714-FSO-CFB-RyanShazier-PI.vadapt.955.medium.11The New England Patriots have an abundance of freak athletes on their roster.

With the 2014 NFL draft quickly approaching (after a very long wait), they’re likely to add a few more this weekend. The Patriots might have taken the best overall athlete in last year’s draft, linebacker Jamie Collins, who jumped an NFL Scouting Combine-record 11-foot-7.

There are plenty of candidates for the distinction of “best athlete” in this year’s draft class, including some projected top picks such as Jadeveon Clowney and Aaron Donald, and lower-round players like Jeff Janis and Kevin Pierre-Louis.

Some of these players, like Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier and Minnesota safety Brock Vereen, have been connected to the Patriots during the predraft process.

NESN.com created an All-Freak Athlete Team, and while some of the players’ skills are raw, their athleticism also makes this the “All-Upside” Team.
