Patriots Sign 2014 Draft Picks Bryan Stork, Jon Halapio, Jemea Thomas

bryan storkThe New England Patriots have just two unsigned draft picks remaining — first-rounder Dominique Easley and second-rounder Jimmy Garoppolo.

The Patriots locked up three draft picks and added three undrafted free agents, the team announced Monday. The Patriots signed center Bryan Stork, guard Jon Halapio and defensive back Jemea Thomas to rookie contracts. Stork was a fourth-round pick out of Florida State, Halapio was selected in the sixth round out of Florida and Thomas was a sixth-round pick out of Georgia Tech.

The Patriots have one spot left on the roster after signing three undrafted free agents from small schools —  West Alabama cornerback Malcolm Butler, Maine wide receiver Derrick Johnson and West Texas A&M linebacker Taylor McCuller.

Butler, 24, ran a 4.62-second 40-yard dash at the Alabama pro day in March with a 7.20-second three-cone and 4.27-second short shuttle at 5-foot-10, 187 pounds. He had two interceptions and 18 passes defensed in 2013 with the Division II Tigers.

Johnson’s signing was announced by his agent Sunday. Johnson, 22, ran a 4.47-second 40-yard dash with a 6.60-second three-cone drill and a 4.20-second short shuttle at his pro day in March. He also had a 10-foot-2 broad jump and 33-inch vertical leap.

McCullers, 24, ran a 4.59-second 40-yard dash with a 7.08-second three-cone and 4.25-second short shuttle at his pro day in March at 6-foot-1, 239 pounds. He had 126 tackles with two sacks, three fumble recoveries and an interception with the D-II Buffaloes.
