Patriots Sign Undrafted Rookie Receivers Wilson Van Hooser, Reese Wiggins

Wilson Van HooserThe New England Patriots added two more offensive weapons for Tom Brady on Tuesday afternoon.

The Patriots signed undrafted rookie wide receivers Wilson Van Hooser and Reese Wiggins, the team announced.

Van Hooser, 23, caught 13 passes for 188 yards with two touchdowns last season with Troy State, where he transferred from Tulane for his senior season. The 6-foot, 192-pound receiver had 55 catches for 805 yards and nine touchdowns in three seasons at Tulane.

Van Hooser ran a 4.47-second 40-yard dash at his pro day in March with a 6.96-second three-cone, 4.15-second short shuttle, 39-inch vertical leap and 10-foot-6 broad jump.

Van Hooser also returned 15 kicks for 237 yards and six punts for 35 yards with Troy State.

Wiggins, 23, ran a 4.37-second 40-yard dash at his pro day at the Detroit Regional Scouting Combine in March at 5-foot-10, 181 pounds with a 6.89-second three-cone, 4.17-second short shuttle, 40-inch vertical leap and 10-foot-1 broad jump.

Wiggins caught 80 passes for 1,012 yards and eight touchdowns at East Carolina. He had 26 receptions for 372 yards and four touchdowns as a senior.

The Patriots’ roster is now at its 90-man maximum for the first time in 2014.
