The Philadelphia Phillies are enjoying another lackluster, sub-.500 season, so one would think that a 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Citizens Bank Park would have the fans talking.

But it was a beer vendor who stole the show Saturday afternoon.

Earl Chaney, who said he’s been working at the park since it opened in 2004, was doing his usual routine delivering cold ones to people in the stands when a foul ball came flying in his direction.

Chaney didn’t just catch the ball. He caught it with the beer bucket that was on top of his head.

‘I didn’t mean to do it at all,” Chaney told announcers. “I was trying get out of the way, and then it was just there.”

The crowd around Chaney erupted when he caught it, and he received a standing ovation and many high fives.
