Kevin Love, Brandon BassThe Minnesota Timberwolves have insisted for a number of years that they have no interest in dealing star power forward Kevin Love. But, now, their stance might be changing, according to Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski.

Love has made it no secret that he’s eager to leave Minnesota, and according to Wojnarowski citing league sources, Timberwolves president Flip Saunders will consider trade offers for the All-Star this summer.

“For the first time, Flip (Saunders) sounds like looking at deals for (Love) is an option,” one rival executive told Yahoo Sports.

While a number of teams will be vying for Love’s services, the Boston Celtics might hold the golden ticket.

Wojnarowski notes that along with the Celtics, the the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns are among the teams expected to make a run at a trade for the 25-year-old. But Wojnarowski calls Boston an  “increasingly intriguing destination” because the Celts would be willing to give up their lottery pick to get him.

Love, who has never made it to the playoffs in his six seasons in the NBA, has made it clear that he wants to go to a contending team. While the Celtics are not that, they do boast a solid group of young players who could be instrumental in a blockbuster deal to obtain Love, while the idea of playing alongside Rajon Rondo could appeal to the forward.

Additionally, Boston has nine first-round draft picks over the next five years at their disposal that they could use to sweeten the deal.
