Don JonesMiami Dolphins defensive back Don Jones has been reinstated by the team less than a week after he was suspended for tweeting critical remarks about Michael Sam during NFL draft weekend, Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith reports.

Jones took to Twitter after Sam was drafted by the St. Louis Rams, making him the first openly gay player in the NFL, and tweeted “OMG” and “horrible.”

Jones later deleted the tweets and apologized.

Shortly after Jones’ comments were made, the Dolphins fined him an undisclosed amount and excused him from the team. The team also required Jones to undergo “educational training” before allowing him to return to the Dolphins.
