Friday night was prom night for Olympic gold medalist Shaun White.

Carly Monzo, a student at Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Pennsylvania, had sent White a video earlier this year inviting the snow/skateboarder to her senior prom. She never received a response, though, and had nearly forgotten about the invitation until she was called up on stage in the middle of the dance.

“At prom they called me up,” Monzo told CBS Philly. “They were like, ‘Carly Monzo, where’s Carly Monzo?’ And I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, what did I do?’ I literally thought I was in trouble.”

Little did she know, White had indeed accepted her invite, and he surprised her on stage along with his band, Bad Things.

“It was crazy,” Monzo said. “On the stage that was there — they just dropped the curtains. I turned around. I was speechless.”

And from the looks of it, the Flying Tomato had himself a pretty wild time. Check it out in the photos below, with a hat tip to Bleacher Report.
