1399562548_blakeFormer UCF quarterback Blake Bortles won’t be making any flashy purchases for himself with the money he receives in his first NFL contract.

Instead, the projected first-rounder says the first thing he’ll do is pay for his younger brother’s college education.

Colby Bortles is a freshman infielder on a partial baseball scholarship at Ole Miss, but his older brother plans to take care of the rest for him.

“Those baseball scholarships are funky,” Bortles said Wednesday on the Open Mike radio show, via the Orlando Sentinel. “So the first big thing I’m going to pay for is the rest of my brother’s college education.”

Full rides for baseball players are uncommon, with Division I coaches only having 11.7 scholarships to divide among the players. But it certainly pays to have a nice older brother who also happens to be on the brink of becoming an NFL star.
