We’ve seen plenty of one-handed fan catches of flying baseballs. We have not, however, seen many one-handed fan catches of flying baseball bats.

Chicago White Sox catcher Tyler Flowers lost his grip on his hitting instrument during Monday’s game against the Cleveland Indians, sending it pinwheeling into the seats along the third base line. The bat skipped off the top of the dugout and was headed for a group of ducking fans when one bold woman used her right hand to snatch it out of midair.

The White Sox went on to win the game 6-2, but Flowers wasn’t around to see the end of it. The 28-year-old got into a heated argument over balls and strikes with umpire Ron Kulpa during the fourth inning, earning himself his first career ejection.
