World Cup KitsEvery four years, the FIFA World Cup is one of the world’s most-watched events.

Since the whole globe is watching, it’s important for teams to look good with nice uniforms. All 32 teams redesigned or released new home and away jerseys for the 2014 World Cup, which kicks off Thursday in Brazil.

Some teams stayed true to their traditional roots and only made slight modifications, while others took bold risks.

Nike manufactured 10 teams’ jerseys — the most from all suppliers — while Adidas made nine teams’ shirts. Puma also joined in, supplying jerseys to eight teams. International companies Marathon, Uhlsport, Lotto, Burrda Sport and Joma each manufactured jerseys for one country.

This year’s batch of new threads assures that while not every team will win, they can at least look good when they lose.
