Belmont Stakes Odds, Post Positions: California Chrome 3-5 Early Favorite

California Chrome can became American horse racing’s 12th Triple Crown champion.

The horse, which won both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes earlier this year, was a 3-5 early favorite Wednesday. Jockey Victor Espinoza will be atop California Chrome in the No. 2 post this Saturday at Belmont Park. Secretariat, the 1973 Triple Crown winner, also was listed No. 2 at Belmont the year he pulled off horse racing’s most famous feat.

Fourth-place Derby finisher Wicked Strong (6-1) drew post No. 9. Tonalist (8-1) will break from the No. 11 post, and Ride On Curlin (12-1) will break from the No. 5 post.
