Brock Holt made his first ever start in the outfield Sunday. The 25-year-old was up to the challenge.

Holt, who started in left field in the Boston Red Sox’s series finale against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park, made a terrific running catch to save a run in the bottom of the third inning. It was the first ball hit in Holt’s direction during the Red Sox’s 5-3 win.

The Tigers tied the game in the third inning, and Ian Kinsler threatened to give Detroit a lead by drilling a line drive to deep left field with Rajai Davis on second base. Holt had other ideas, though, as he raced back to make the grab before banging into the fence.

Holt also put together an excellent night offensively, further proving the energetic utilityman can do it all right now.
