Brock HoltBrock Holt made his first career start in center field during Tuesday’s game against the Minnesota Twins. It went pretty well.

The Boston Red Sox’s jack-of-all trades made an instinctive diving catch and scored both of the team’s runs in a 2-1 win over the Twins at Fenway Park.

Holt will change positions yet again for Wednesday’s day game series finale with Minnesota, getting the start in right field and remaining in the leadoff spot. Replacing Jonny Gomes in left field is outfielder Daniel Nava, who will bat sixth.

Jackie Bradley Jr. will be back in the lineup after a day off on Wednesday, resuming his duties in center field and batting ninth.

A.J. Pierzynski also will return to the field after sitting out Tuesday’s contest, batting seventh and catching for righthander John Lackey, who is tied with Jon Lester for the team lead in wins with eight and has won three of his last four starts.
