For the first time in over 20 years, a Boston Bruins player will grace the cover of EA Sports’ popular NHL video game franchise.

Bruins center Patrice Bergeron defeated Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban in the final round of EA Sports’ cover vote competition to become the first B’s player to appear on the game since goaltender Andy Moog on “NHL 94.”

To cast a vote, fans had to tweet using the #NHL15Bergeron or #NHL15Subban hashtags. The fact that Bergeron won without having his own Twitter account to help his voting campaign is pretty impressive.

The results of the voting were announced during the 2014 NHL Awards ceremony in Las Vegas on Tuesday night. NBC Sports’ Doc Emrick and Ed Olczyk presented the winner.
