The Boston Bruins are well-represented in Las Vegas for the 2014 NHL Awards ceremony, which will take place Tuesday night.
Tuukka Rask is a finalist for the Vezina Trophy (most outstanding goaltender), Zdeno Chara is a finalist for the Norris Trophy (best all-around defenseman) and Patrice Bergeron is a finalist for the Selke Trophy (best defensive forward).
Bergeron also is one of the two finalists for the “NHL 15” video game cover, along with Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban. The cover winner will be announced during the ceremony.
“I don’t really know what to expect, I’ve never been to a fancy thing like this,” Rask told Bruins TV on Monday in Las Vegas. “I’m excited to walk the red carpet tomorrow, see some fans and friends and doing the awards.
“I hope I win, but I kind of hope I don’t win because I don’t have a speech ready,” Rask said with a laugh. “I’m not a good public speaker.”
Rask also delivered the one-liner of the day.

Bergeron wasn’t available to the media Monday, but Chara did take some time to answer questions. The Bruins captain is hoping to win his second Norris Trophy after claiming his first in 2008-09.
“It’s a reflection of how the team played this season,” Chara said when asked about what it means that him, Bergeron and Rask are up for defensive awards. “It’s a result of the great team effort and work we’ve done throughout the whole season. None of us can say that we would be here standing without (teammates’) help, so I think it’s a big thank you to all our teammates.”
“It’s a huge honor to be selected for an individual award, but the ultimate reward is different.”
The last Bruins player to win an end-of-the-season award was Bergeron, who received the Selke Trophy in 2012.
