When you think injury rehab, you typically imagine long days in physical therapy working through basic movements. That’s not exactly the case for Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper.

Harper will take as much time as he needs to rehab his surgically repaired thumb, but he’ll be doing it in the comfort of his living room, not the training room. Harper will be using his Playstation 4 gaming console to work out his thumb.

Not surprisingly, Harper doesn’t seem to be in a huge rush to get back in the lineup.

“He says he’s not getting caught up in timetables,” MASN’s Dan Kolko reported during Thursday’s win over the Phillies, via the Washington Post. “He said, ‘I’m not going to rush back, I’m not going to do anything stupid.’ He’s more just focused on progressing day to day.”

Harper is still unable to catch balls because of his injured left thumb, and plans to include some range-of-motion exercises in his rehab.
