Call-Up Mookie Betts Not In Lineup; David Ross Catching for Jon Lester

Jon LesterThe arrival of prospect Mookie Betts captured the headlines on Saturday, but the rookie won’t be in the lineup for the Red Sox on Saturday night.

John Farrell will not rush the coveted outfielder into the Sox lineup against New York Yankees ace Masahiro Tanaka. Instead, the Sox will roll out Brock Holt in right field, Daniel Nava in left and Jackie Bradley Jr. in center. They’ll bat leadoff, second and eighth, respectively.

A.J. Pierzynski gets the night off, as David Ross will do the catching for pitcher Jon Lester. Ross will bat ninth.
