Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez recently made a new friend in an avid young fan who threw out the first pitch at a game last week.

He’s lucky she wasn’t there for Wednesday’s game.

After breaking his bat against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field, Gomez trudged forlornly back to the Brewers’ dugout and immediately proceeded to eat it on the steps.

Gomez wasn’t injured in the tumble, but fortunately for us, his embarrassing moment was caught by cameras on the TV broadcast. Brewers teammate Wily Peralta surely can relate to Gomez’s situation.

To add insult to embarrassment, Gomez struck out twice as his team fell 6-4 to the Twins. Get ’em next time, Carlos.
