beckhamDavid Beckham apparently has “the itch.”

It’s the itch that plagued Brett Favre for many years and even got to Michael Phelps. It’s the itch to come out of retirement.

That’s right, the internationally renowned 39-year-old soccer star is considering a comeback. Beckham last played for Paris Saint-Germain of Ligue 1 (French first division) in 2013.

Since then, he’s been busy with many projects, including making making a BBC documentary about his travels in the Amazon and cheering on the Los Angeles Kings in the Stanley Cup playoffs. In his documentary, he cites that he has had a difficult time coping with retirement. His time away from soccer, along with seeing fellow athletes compete at a high level, has developed an itch that Beckham may want to scratch.

One possible destination for his return is Miami, Fla., where he recently bought an MLS expansion team.
