Boston Red Sox sluggers David Ortiz and Mike Napoli are making sure they’re taking things one day at a time and are not concerning themselves with things they cannot change.
After Boston’s 6-0 loss to the New York Yankees on Friday night, Ortiz was asked if he thinks the Red Sox should try to find help from the trade market, and he told them to ask the general manager. “I’m just a player,” Ortiz said.
Napoli responded with a similar tone when he was asked if he had any different feelings about facing Yankees ace Masahiro Tanaka on Saturday. “It doesn’t change,” Napoli said. “We’re all grinding, and we just gotta get it done.”
