Florida Gators Pull Off Hidden Ball Trick In NCAA Tournament (Video)

The hidden ball trick has to be the oldest trick play in baseball, but rarely is it dusted off and pulled out of the playbook.

The Florida Gators, one of the top teams in college baseball, did just that in an NCAA tournament game against College of Charleston. Gators pitcher Logan Shore pretended to tie his shoe on the mound in the first inning, while shortstop Richie Martin secretly still had the ball in his hand.

As C of C’s Nick Pappas stepped off the bag, Martin quickly tagged him out.

No. 4 seed College of Charleston got the last laugh, though, as they went on to beat the No. 2 seeded Florida team 3-2 in the regional matchup.
