The Philadelphia Flyers are making all kinds of moves in the days leading up to the 2014 NHL draft.
Earlier on Monday, the Flyers traded veteran winger Scott Hartnell to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for forward R.J. Umberger and a 2015 fourth-round draft pick.
Later in the day, they announced that center Brayden Schenn had agreed to a multiyear contract. TSN’s Bob McKenzie reported the terms of the deal.

This is a “bridge deal” for Schenn, who will use the next two seasons to prove to Flyers general manager Ron Hextall that he deserves a rich, long-term extension in the near future.
Schenn is on the right track for a huge raise. He scored 20 goals and tallied 41 points — both career highs — as the team’s second-line center during the 2013-14 season. The 22-year-old was acquired by the Flyers as part of the 2012 Mike Richards trade with the Los Angeles Kings.
