Grady Sizemore A Victim Of Circumstance In Red Sox Roster Move (Video)

Boston Red Sox center fielder Grady Sizemore is a victim of circumstance.

With outfielder Daniel Nava performing much better than he did at the beginning of the season and utilityman Brock Holt excelling in every position he has been placed in, there just didn’t seem to be room for Sizemore anymore.

Sizemore was designated for assignment to Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday, and Red Sox manager John Farrell expressed what a tough decision it was to make, calling the outfielder “an exceptional person.”

Check out more of what Farrell and NESN’s Gary Striewski had to say about the situation in the video above.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
