As if the Kevin Love merry-go-round wasn’t filled with enough drama, Joel Embiid’s broken foot added a layer of intrigue to the plot Thursday.
Suddenly, the Boston Celtics’ No. 6 pick in the 2014 NBA draft could be a bit more valuable, provided the Celtics or any potential trade partner is not scared off by Embiid’s injury. At least one report indicates they are not.
Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge can only hope the Minnesota Timberwolves feel the same way. While the Celtics seem to be slipping farther out of the conversation in the Love sweepstakes, the circumstances could not be more fluid. There is still reason for Celtics fans to hope everything could line up in their favor in their pursuit of Love.
NESN.com Celtics beat writer Ben Watanabe welcomed CelticsHub’s Brian Robb to talk about the ever-changing Love situation on this week’s NESN.com Celtics/NBA podcast. Draft analyst Kevin O’Connor also joined the show, once again, to break down some more prospects hoping to hear their names called next week in New York.
