While the Boston Red Sox outfield has been struggling offensively, defense has never really been an issue for them.
Especially not for Jonny Gomes.
Gomes spends almost all of his time in left field, even when it’s not quite game time. This is because the Green Monster makes left field at Fenway Park one of the most difficult positions to play in the league.
Gomes luckily got some experience with it during his tenure with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and has nearly mastered it by spending extra time practicing taking balls off the wall and learning its intricacies since coming to Boston.
