Argentinian soccer star Lionel Messi was caught denying a young fan who came up for a handshake while he was chatting with officials, and the world was left wondering whether Messi didn’t see the child or if he was a huge jerk.
It turns out it was the former.
The snub occurred after Argentina’s 2014 FIFA World Cup game against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday, and Messi managed to track down the kid Tuesday and snap a photo with him.
It was a nice move on Messi’s part, and the boy ended up getting much better moment than just a handshake.

UPDATE (2:44 p.m.): Now there’s some question if the boy in the picture really is the one Messi snubbed. A soccer website, 101greatgoals.com, said the kid actually is the son of a Brazilian club player.
Some astronauts watched part of the World Cup from space. No big deal.
