New York Mets reliever Carlos Torres very literally beat himself up after a rough outing Thursday night against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The typically dependable relief pitcher imploded as he entered the game with the score tied 1-1 in the 13th inning, giving up four runs on seven hits to hand the Brewers a 5-1 win. It wasn’t a pretty outing for Torres, but what happened when he left the game wasn’t pretty either.
Torres retreated to the dugout and began punching himself in the head– hard.
At the very least, Torres gave the Mets something that sums up their season pretty perfectly.
