The Mexican national team just finished off a tense, scoreless draw with Brazil in its Group A match Tuesday at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Instead of preparing for a possible win-or-go-home game with Croatia on Monday, Mexico decided to ease the tension a bit.

Taking advantage of the shoreline in front of its hotel, the team got a game of beach soccer going. Some of the eight players involved even wore speedos during the pickup game.

To make it an even game, two lucky fans were able to join in on the fun. For the rest of the fans watching, they were not left empty-handed. After the game was over, the Mexican players signed autographs and posed for pictures.

More importantly for the fans of the team, none of the players were hurt during the game. Mexico is tied with Brazil atop Group A with four points and can advance to the knockout stage with a win over Croatia. Who knows, the beach day could pay dividends.
