NESN Wins Five New England/Boston Emmy Awards

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences held the 37th Boston/New England Emmy awards ceremony on Saturday night, and NESN brought home some more hardware to add to the trophy cabinet. The network was nominated 19 times in 11 different categories, and came away with five awards.

NESN won Emmys in the following categories:

Outstanding Program Promo – Single Spot for the production of “Red Sox 2013 World Series Champions.” The production team for that spot includes Keith Macri (senior writer/producer), Fabio Apelbaum (senior designer), Rick Booth (director of creative services), Paul Bermel (VP of marketing), Tony Saia (art director), all pictured below.

Outstanding Sports One-Time Special for the production of “Band of Bearded Brothers: The 2013 World Series Champion Red Sox.” The team behind production of the film includes Tom Werner (executive producer [chairman of the Boston Red Sox]), Sean McGrail (executive producer [NESN president & CEO]), Joseph Maar (executive producer), David Check (executive producer [MLB Productions]), Howard Zalkowitz (senior coordinating producer), Mike Barry (supervising producer), Mike Sullivan (senior producer [MLB Productions]), Justine Pouravelis (producer), Tom Caron (producer), Kevin Millar (narrator), Paul Solga (editor [MLB Productions]).

Outstanding Graphic Arts Set Design for Studio A. The team behind the new set design includes Joseph Maar (executive producer [VP programming & production]), Rick Booth (director of creative services), George Vago (manager, remote & studio productions), Kevin Julian (set builder [Sachs Exhibits]), John Casey (set designer [ieDesign Events]), Paul Bermel (VP of marketing), all pictured below.
