Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson apparently has some skills with the bat, too.

Nelson smacked two home runs over the weekend during his charity softball tournament, which drew 7,354 fans and pitted the Packers’ offense against the defense. The O won 26-11, and Nelson, whose game-day attire included a GoPro camera, gave fans an up-close look at one of his homers.

Diehard Boston Red Sox fans watching Nelson’s bomb might recognize the ballpark — Fox Cities Stadium, home of the Class-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers — from an 18-year-old video starring none other than David Ortiz.

Ortiz, then an unknown minor leaguer in the Seattle Mariners’ system, launched a series of prodigious homers during an impromptu home run derby, wowing a crowd of stars that included Ken Griffey Jr. and Alex Rodriguez.
