The Boston Red Sox have an asset that most teams really need — pitching.
With Clay Buchholz returning from the disabled list soon and Rubby De La Rosa and Brandon Workman establishing themselves as starters in the major leagues, the Red Sox all of a sudden have a lot of solid pitching that they can trade for an outfield bat.
Before Sunday afternoon’s game, the Red Sox had scored just 15 runs in an eight-game span. An extra bat in the lineup could give the Red Sox the boost they need to make a late playoff run.
