Brandon WorkmanBrandon Workman is pitching Tuesday in Baltimore as he waits for his appeal of a six-game suspension to be heard by Major League Baseball. His day in court reportedly will soon arrive.

MLB will hear Workman’s appeal Friday, Nick Cafardo of The Boston Globe reports. That is more than a week since the suspension was handed down and two weeks since the incident against the Tampa Bay Rays that earned Workman the ban in the first place.

Workman was suspended after the league determined that he was “intentionally throwing in the head area” of Longoria, which Workman has denied. Rays starter David Price plunked David Ortiz and Mike Carp in that game, but was only fined an undisclosed amount.
