David Price, Jeff Kellogg, D.J. ReyburnTampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price won’t miss any time, but he’ll still pay a price for hitting David Ortiz.

Major League Baseball has fined Price an undisclosed amount for hitting the Boston Red Sox designated hitter during last Friday’s 3-2 Red Sox win, an industry source told The Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo.

Price’s reported fine comes just one day after the league suspended Brandon Workman for six games after the Sox pitcher threw behind Evan Longoria later in the same game.

Ortiz blasted MLB for its decision to suspend Workman and not Price, claiming the Rays pitcher was the one who “started everything up.”

Workman appealed the suspension Tuesday and is expected to make his start against the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday.
