Gisele Bundchen has many titles attached to her name: international supermodel, actress and Tom Brady’s wife. Now you can add “World Cup trophy presenter” to the list.
FIFA has asked the Brazilian beauty to present the World Cup trophy to the champion after the July 13 final, the Boston Globe reported. Usually the trophy presenters are old men in suits, so this will be a nice change of pace.
The news comes days after Brazil’s president, Dilma Rousseff, did not receive the warmest of welcomes during the World Cup opening ceremony. Rousseff has received plenty of heat for spending $11 billion on the tournament while many in her country live in poverty.
So it’s clear that Bundchen is a safer choice than perhaps having the president of the World Cup’s host country receive the Gary Bettman treatment on an international stage.
Now all Bundchen has to do is wait for her husband to win another Super Bowl, somehow snag the Lombardi Trophy from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s hands and give the trophy to Brady herself. That way, she’ll become the only person to present two of the most coveted trophies in sports.
