The 2014 Summer of Gronk has been much more productive than last offseason’s.
Sure, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski still has done his fair share of partying while recovering from a torn right ACL, but he’s avoided the setbacks he faced last summer while he was rehabbing from back and forearm surgeries.
Gronkowski’s recovery has gone much smoother this year, and the goal is for the Patriots tight end to return Week 1 of the regular season, NFL Media’s Albert Breer reported Friday. Gronkowski has been spotted at all organized team activities and minicamp practices, albeit in a limited fashion. Gronkowski was performing uphill sprints last Wednesday during minicamp.
Gronkowski injured his knee Dec. 8 in the third quarter of the Patriots’ Week 14 comeback win over the Cleveland Browns. He plans to spend most of the summer rehabbing near Gillette Stadium, Breer reported.
