It sounds as if Kevin Love now is on the trade market.

Yahoo! Sports reported Wednesday that the Minnesota Timberwolves have begun trade discussions regarding the big man. However, the Wolves likely will hire a new head coach before they ship Love anywhere.

Minnesota also is holding out hope that it can convince Love, who’s signed through next season, to work out a contract extension. However, he reportedly has informed the team that he doesn’t plan on re-signing after he becomes a free agent.

For whatever it’s worth, Love spent last weekend gallivanting around Boston. The Celtics also have an abundance of first-round draft picks and certainly would seem to be a fit for Love. Then again, most teams would love to have Love, who was named a second-team All-NBA player Wednesday after a season in which the UCLA product averaged 26.1 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.
