Rex Ryan put his foot in his mouth again and set some unrealistic expectations for an undrafted rookie cornerback in the process.

The New York Jets head coach compared 5-foot-7, 167-pound cornerback Jeremy Reeves to three-time All-Pro, five-time Pro Bowl selection and current New England Patriot Darrelle Revis on Wednesday after organized team activities.

Reeves, who likely faces an uphill battle to make the Jets’ 53-man roster out of training camp, probably didn’t need the added pressure of being compared to a probable Hall of Famer.

The Jets might need Reeves to play like Revis after releasing Antonio Cromartie and failing to sign any of the top cornerbacks on the open market this offseason — including Revis.
