Ryan Mallett, Kanorris Davis, Josh McDanielsFOXBORO, Mass. — Vince Wilfork’s recovery from a torn Achilles seems to be going as well as anyone possibly could have expected.

The big New England Patriots nose tackle stayed on the practice field for the entire two-hour minicamp session Tuesday at Gillette Stadium. Wilfork had disappeared into the practice bubble during all three organized team activities open to the media. Defensive linemen Tommy Kelly and Will Smith also stayed on the field for the entire practice.

It wasn’t all good news for the Patriots on the injury front, however. Wide receiver Aaron Dobson, cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, linebacker Darius Fleming and defensive tackles Dominique Easley and Armond Armstead were absent from practice. Tight ends D.J. Williams and Rob Gronkowski, wide receivers Matthew Slater and Jeremy Gallon, quarterback Ryan Mallett, guard Logan Mankins and cornerbacks Travis Hawkins and Justin Green were limited in practice.

Pads and contact are forbidden from minicamp, so the Patriots were wearing shorts and T-shirts without numbers, making attendance a challenge, as always.
