Australia has defied the odds and held their own against The Netherlands in their Group B matchup during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and it’s thanks in part to a brilliant goal by star player Tim Cahill.

Cahill was in top form as the Aussies took on the Dutch on Tuesday. Just seconds after The Netherlands’ Arjen Robben put the Dutch ahead 1-0, Cahill took a long pass from midfield and one-timed it under the crossbar for an amazing goal to tie the score at 1-1.

The ability of the Socceroos’ star to take a ball blasted from nearly 50 yards away place it perfectly on goal on his first touch is pretty amazing.

Cahill’s strike was his fifth career World Cup goal, more than Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo have combined. The Aussies and the Dutch ended the first half tied at 1-1.
